The installation ‘Echoes of the Future’ deals with the site of the Westerholt Mine and connects traces of the past with the present. The artists visited mining areas, abandoned mines and renaturalised mining areas that are now used as leisure resorts. In the sound installation, they bring together all the different strands, the old and the new, the sounds of days gone by, the sounds of the future. Something new emerges from this, lightness, discomfort. Transformation of the place, light and reflection.
